and I hope you like it!
September 2025
Hello everyone,
I’m starting a monthly newsletter where I write about my music, my upcoming shows, and my life in general. If you want to hear about these things, please subscribe to receive a free monthly update directly to your inbox.
Some life updates: I live in Brooklyn now (for those of you who didn’t know). I just had a birthday last Sunday (September 14th), and released a live album I made with my band Sandbox Xtet to celebrate.
This iteration of the Sandbox featured an octet configuration, with myself on keys/samples, Lucas Leto on drums, Charlie McClaren on guitar/pedals, Nikita Manin on clarinet, James Robotham on soprano saxophone, Greg Sinibaldi on NuRAD, Mireia Clua on violin, and Adrian Garcia on violin as well.
The album itself is a set of variations on Béla Bartók’s ‘Melody against Double Notes’ (Mikrokosmos Volume III no. 70), and each movement features a unique MADN acronym (which is a feature that makes the album worth investigating on its own).
If you want to give me a belated bday gift, feel free to purchase/listen to the album here: MADN (Live Album)
During what was supposed to be a release show for this album in my friends backyard, we noticed some very energetic drumming coming from next door. My friend Charlie immediately made moves, and before I knew what was happening, myself and 20 others were invited into what might have been the coolest event I’ve been to all year.
What promises to be the second coolest event of the year is happening next week: Starting September 26th, My collaborator Puppy and I will be hosting an audiovisual jam at Brooklyn Brewery called Pass the Aux (every last Friday of the month). This event will have a short opening set from a featured producer, followed by an open jam that focuses on improvised electronic music. Throughout the night, a featured visual artist will provide vibes for the players. If you are around, bring your instruments, bring your beats, and come through!!!
This month’s Pass the Aux is happening Friday September 26th from 8-11 pm at Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg, and will feature beats by Midi Neutron and visuals by William Laziza. Tickets are $10 at the door.
I will also be playing a duo set with visual artist Strange Rays for the New Rochelle Artsfest on Saturday October 18th, in the top floor of the New Rochelle Metro North Station (if you happen to be upstate.)
I think that’s everything for now. I’ll leave you all with some fun clips/pics.

Peace and Love,
Thomas
